Personal Growth & Development: Learning to Implementation Ratio
I'm spending my days between working, learning, and a tiny bit of practice.
Learning in 2 ways. One is regarding the state of the world. Getting closer towards a clearer, more right view of what reality looks like.
The other is learning for personal gain & development. This kind of learning is slowly changing in the sense that I am not as interested in vast bodies of knowledge, but rather teachings that have an impact on behaviour, wellbeing, fulfillment, & progress.
This perspective may very well change in the future, but currently, it's about developing a simple, yet effective approach towards personal growth.
While developing a complex. more holisitic understanding of the world.
One thing I would've done differently looking back is maintain a higher ratio of learning to implementation. Not necessarily 1:1 as that may be VERY difficult.
But also not a 1: 0.01. Where intellectually you are years ahead of where you're at behaviourally.
It may be very seductive to move on to new, novel teachings...but without proper implementation & integration, you're not really doing yourself any favors.
You're actually overwhelming yourself with multiple perspectives & contexts that you haven't taken the time to integrate.
Which also means that our approach to personal growth & progress needs to be monitored so that lower ego-states do not infiltrate the process.
Speed of development is NOT what must be measured as an indicator of success. Sustainable behavioural deep change is.
Just some thoughts.
